Google Working on New Features for Upcoming Android 13 Pixel Element Drop Update
According to Mishaal Rehman, a Senior Specialized Proofreader at Esper, Google is developing several new features for the upcoming Android 13 Pixel Element Drop update. Rehman also notes that some rumored components did not make it into the Android 13 QPR1 beta release, which coincides with the October 2022 Google Play Framework Update. In the Android 13 QPR1 beta version, Rehman discovered the Creation (and LC3) codecs in the Bluetooth Sound Codec determination, which he believes will be used for BT Classic Sound streams.
The Android 13 QPR1 beta update also mentions a feature called "clear calling," which is designed to reduce background noises while on the phone and is supposed to work "for most mobile carriers." However, Rehman points out that it is "not available for Wi-Fi calling" and that information from your calls is "not sent to Google."
In addition to these features, the Android 13 update will include a new "Wellbeing Center" that consolidates settings for security and protection. On the Pixel 6 Master, there is no mention of the rumoured face unlock feature. Android 13 will also provide "Battery wellness" data based on usage, a guarantee on the device (which may be a Google Pixel-specific feature), and other information. Keep an eye out for these and other exciting updates in the Android 13 Pixel Element Drop release.
